AI Design Projects

AI isn’t a differentiator anymore—it’s the baseline. The real value comes from how you use it.

I treat AI as a collaborator in the learning design process, not a shortcut. It helps me move faster—drafting content, building simulations, and testing ideas—but the strategy, structure, and business alignment always come first. This approach allows me to rapidly iterate while still delivering learning experiences that are practical, relevant, and built for real performance on the job.

Below are two examples of how I utilized AI as a co-designer to assist me with rapid content development.

eLearning Module

WHAT: eLearning module for entry-level construction workers, giving a basic overview of quality work on concrete.

BUILD TIME: 90 minutes

TOOLS: ChatGPT & Articulate360 AI

HOW: Used ChatGPT to generate a course outline, objectives, and assessment questions using a structured RCTCF prompt. Finalized the outline and leveraged Articulate 360 AI to build the module, providing direction on length, interactivity, and branding. Applied instructional design expertise to refine content—simplifying language, reducing text, and enhancing interactivity.

THE AI IMPACT: In rapid design, time with stakeholders and SMEs is limited—and feedback is most valuable when they can react to something real. AI enables fast, high-quality first drafts, allowing teams to engage with tangible content early and move quickly into meaningful review and iteration before finalizing the learner experience.

Job Aid (PDF)

WHAT: One-page job aid to support first-time managers with identifying when/how to prioritize tasks.

BUILD TIME: 5 minutes

TOOLS: ChatGPT Plus

HOW: Leveraged ChatGPT to transform the course outline into a prioritization job aid, guiding the output with clear context, constraints, and format.

THE AI IMPACT: Job aids boost confidence and reinforce retention by giving learners something to rely on beyond the learning moment. With AI enabling rapid creation of these resources, designers can focus on what matters most—practical application and real skill-building.
